About

Independent advice, senior attention, no distractions.

Synergy MENA is a boutique strategic advisory and corporate finance firm. We advise boards, shareholders and sponsors on the transactions that decide the next decade of their business.

The firm

Why we built it this way

Synergy MENA was founded on a simple conviction: the most consequential transactions in our region are the ones that do not fit neatly into a single jurisdiction, currency or capital market. A Cairo industrial group selling a division to a French strategic buyer, a Saudi family office underwriting a Nigerian infrastructure platform, a Swiss investor structuring exposure to Egyptian consumer demand — none of these are standard processes, and none of them are well served by a template.

We chose Cairo as our head office because it is where our clients build, and because North Africa remains the most under-advised large economy set in the region. We added Geneva because European institutional and private capital still forms the deepest pool of cross-border money entering our markets, and it expects to be engaged on its own terms. We added Riyadh because the Gulf capital cycle has become the single most important variable in regional dealmaking, and proximity to sponsors and family offices there is not optional.

Boutique, for us, is not a size claim — it is an operating model. There is no research desk to feed, no balance sheet to deploy and no product to place. A partner leads every engagement from the first meeting through to completion, and the same people who form the view are the ones in the negotiation. We deliberately keep the number of live mandates low so that senior attention is real rather than nominal.

We are selective about what we take on. We decline mandates where a transaction is the wrong answer, where the price expectation cannot survive diligence, or where we would be conflicted. That discipline occasionally costs us fees. It is also the reason clients return to us for the second and third transaction, and the reason counterparties take our processes seriously.

Principles

Three commitments we do not trade away

Independence

No lending balance sheet, no distribution arm and no products to sell. Our only economic interest is the outcome of your mandate.

Judgement

We tell clients what we think, not what they hope to hear. A candid read early in a process is worth more than an optimistic one late.

Discretion

Most of our mandates are never announced. Confidentiality is a condition of the work, not a courtesy extended after it.

Leadership

Partner-led, by design

The people who win the mandate are the people who execute it.
